Mattarello rolling pin with one handle

This is a rolling pin made of untreated beech wood, as was typically used in the Italian Emiglia Romagna.
Nowadays these rolling pins are used and appreciated all over Italy. Not just for pasta dough, also for pizza, piadina, foccaccia etc. etc.

The wood has a handle, meaning the other side is conical.
The reason for this is that the wood is so wide that you cannot grab the handle on both sides (only the not so long woods have a handle on both sides).
In Italy people also like to use the handle to hang the wood lengthways over the handle.

Care instructions:
Before using for the first time, rub the rolling pin with a little olive oil and dry it.
Please do not clean in the dishwasher, do not clean under running water. Simply wipe the rolling pin with a damp cloth.
