This exceptional bronze die, Conchiglia Cresta, produces beautiful shell pasta with a characteristic wavy edge.
"Conchiglia" means shell in Italian , while "cresta" refers to a wavy comb or rooster's comb. The name perfectly describes this special pasta shape: a shell with a decorative, curved edge.
The Conchiglia Cresta is not only a taste highlight – it is also one of the most beautiful pasta shapes visually and makes every dish special.
🐚 Exceptional shell pasta with a decorative wavy edge
🍝 A real eye-catcher pasta for special dishes
🍅 The shape holds sauces perfectly.
✨ Bronze creates the typical rough pasta surface
🇮🇹 Authentic Italian pasta shape
♻️ Durable die that can still be used even when changing pasta machines.
Its curved shape and small indentations make this pasta incredibly versatile.
It goes particularly well with:
⭐ creamy cheese sauces
⭐ Tomato sauces
⭐ Pesto
⭐ Vegetable ragouts
⭐ Mushroom sauces
⭐ Sauces with small pieces
⭐ Mediterranean pasta dishes
The wavy edge ensures that sauce adheres particularly well to the pasta. This makes not only the shape visually appealing – the taste is also convincing.
Try the Conchiglia Cresta with a creamy mushroom sauce and freshly shaved Parmesan cheese.
The small indentations of the shell wonderfully absorb the sauce, while the wavy edge visually transforms the pasta into a real restaurant dish.
A beautiful Italian summer dish can also be created with a fruity tomato sauce, basil and some burrata.

Bronze dies represent the traditional production of high-quality Italian pasta.
Pressing the pasta dough through bronze dies creates a slightly rough surface. This special structure ensures that sauces adhere better to the pasta and flavors are absorbed more intensely.
Your benefits
✔ traditional pasta “al bronzo”
✔ Rough surface for perfect sauce adhesion
✔ More intense taste experience
✔ Authentic Italian pasta quality
For optimal results, we recommend:
✔ Use durum wheat semolina (semola rimacinata)
✔ Use a sufficiently cold liquid such as water or egg
✔ Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes
✔ The ideal pasta dough should be moist and crumbly.
Gluten-free pasta dough can also be made with this die.
The Pastidea bronze dies were originally developed for the Kenwood Pastafresca.
Thanks to suitable adapters and reducing rings, they can be used on many different pasta machines.
Even if your pasta machine needs to be replaced at some point, a high-quality bronze die will remain and can still be used.
Do you already own several bronze matrices?
With our suitable storage systems, you can protect your matrices from dust and light influences and keep them safe and tidy.
Bronze dies are not dishwasher safe.
Please clean the die by hand and then dry it thoroughly to avoid water stains.
Due to the material and production process, small dark spots may be visible on the bronze surface. This is normal for bronze and does not affect the function of the die.

Conchiglia cresta is a pasta dish with a very interesting mouthfeel. I love to serve it with goulash or other meat dishes.
